Cerec Same Day Crowns

Home » Cerec Same Day Crowns

Your smile is designed to last a lifetime. However, things happen during the years that can impact the teeth and gums’ function and health. If one or more teeth in the smile are affected by large cavities or damage, it may be in one’s best interests to place a restoration such as a dental crown. At the practice of Thompson Dental, we are honored to provide same-day restorations with CEREC dental crowns for patients in the area of McKinney, TX.

What is a CEREC crown?

A CEREC crown is a dental crown made in one day, often referred to as “one-visit dentistry.” CEREC is a specialized CAD/CAM software program and a milling device that provides porcelain restorations while patients wait. This method eliminates the need for messy impressions and molds used by other dentists in the area when creating porcelain restorations. Digital prints are taken after preparing the tooth and are sent to the software to create a digital image. Then, this is used to mill a dental crown out of a block of porcelain within 20 minutes. This crown is then ready to bond in place to eliminate the need for a temporary crown or a patient’s return appointment.

Are CEREC crowns durable?

Absolutely! CEREC dental crowns can last just as long as laboratory-created crowns but in a fraction of the time.

What are CEREC crowns made with?

Like laboratory-created dental crowns, CEREC crowns are also created from porcelain. They are made to match the patient’s existing tooth colors for seamless integration.

What are the advantages of CEREC restorations?

  • Durability
  • Speed
  • Quality
  • Digital impressions
  • No temporaries
  • Same-day treatment
